GAMELIN deliberately separates two questions. The projected winner is the highest-ranked runner under the information available. The BET/PASS decision is a separate price-and-quality gate. A horse can remain the projected winner while the money decision says PASS because coverage is weak, the field changed, the price shortened, or another safeguard failed.
That means a GAMELIN “pick” is not a promise, lock or instruction to wager. Recheck scratches and the current market near post. If the available price no longer supports the read, PASS is a complete result. Use the fair-odds calculator when you want to test the arithmetic behind a price assumption.
