Start with permission not to act

Analyzing a race does not create an obligation to bet it. A useful tool can identify a likely winner while declining a monetary recommendation. GAMELIN treats that distinction as part of the product, not a footnote below a pick.

PASS when the field is unresolved

Do not proceed with duplicate runners, ambiguous program numbers, unconfirmed scratches or the wrong date. A probability distribution is only meaningful for the field it describes. Resolve the race identity before comparing prices.

PASS when the inputs do not support the label

Entry Card mode can use posted entries and a morning line. Live Odds mode can add current prices. Neither automatically includes complete exact class and recent-speed figures. GAMELIN cannot show full Conviction or produce its qualified primary monetary BET without those required inputs for the active field.

PASS when the price has gone

An attractive price in a screenshot may not be available now. Check when it was observed and how the current board compares. A shorter price can remove the justification for a bet even when the same horse remains the most likely winner.

PASS when the budget is gone

Do not increase a stake to recover a previous loss or use money needed for bills and other obligations. Set a discretionary limit before racing and stop when it is reached. A model score is not a reason to ignore that limit. Visit responsible-play guidance when gambling no longer feels voluntary or manageable.

What to do instead

Keep the read as a learning example, note the missing information, and observe the result without a wager. Do not later rewrite the original decision. A good evidence record includes passes and losing selections as well as wins. See GAMELIN's methodology and limits.
